Died at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked with an improvised explosive device on 15 DEC 2012 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Schoonhoven was assigned to the 32nd Transportation Company, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
