Reputable charities that benefit active duty military, veterans, and their families:
Oscar Mike & OMFoundation: an all-American made retail organization and a charitable foundation that were started to offer service members, veterans, and their supporters a high-quality clothing line that honors our own. The foundation’s mission is to assist and promote injured veterans in being “on-the-move,” encouraging each to do something rewarding and productive with their lives. 10% of proceeds of OM sales and 100% of donations go toward adaptive and competitive sports for veterans.
Fisher House Foundation: donates “comfort homes,” built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one (free of charge) at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
Green Beans Coffee’s “Cup of Joe For a Joe” program: Let the troops in Iraq or Afghanistan know you care by sending a cup of coffee or tea & a personal note.
Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund: Charity that funded the construction of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, a facility dedicated to research, diagnosis, and treatment of military personnel and veterans suffering from TBI (traumatic brain injury) and psychological health issues (such as PTSD).
The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund: Provides immediate financial support for injured and critically ill members of the US Armed Forces and their families.
Service Members Legal Defense Network: To secure the freedom for all qualified individuals to serve, with equality of treatment and opportunity, regardless of actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity or militarily appropriate gender expression.
Troops First Foundation: Develops, operates, and supports a synergistic group of wellness, quality of life and sports-based initiatives in support of military personnel. Both non-injured and injured military personnel and their families are served at no cost.
Wounded Warrior Project: “The greatest casualty is being forgotten.”
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF): an international medical humanitarian organization working in nearly 70 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.
Amnesty International: defending human rights for all.
